About Us

Plymouth Anaesthesia provides a 24-hour, 365 days a year Consultant delivered service.

Your Consultant will visit you before your operation, and after careful assesment of your individual circumstances and preferences will discuss the anaesthetic options available to you. You will also have an opportunity to discuss the pain relief options available and any concerns for postoperative care.

Your anaesthetic will be administered by the same Consultant who will remain with you throughout the operation.

The Consultant will then transfer you to the recovery area where you will be closely monitored before returning to the ward.

Your pain relief, fluid requirements and postoperative care will have been arranged according to your discussions before the operation.

Out of hours and at weekends we operate an on-call service so that you always have full access to our expertise throughout your stay in hospital.
